Dr. Mary Leinhos earned a Masters degree in molecular and cellular biology, and a PhD in higher education studies, with a concentration in science & technology policy and a minor in culture, science and technology studies. Her dissertation project was supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation and published as a book, exploring the challenges that the field of bioethics faces while trying to become a stable, legitimate voice that speaks truth to the power of biomedical technology. Mary has 16 years of experience in public health science, including work in human research ethics and 10 years managing and collaborating on disaster preparedness and response research programs.
